Abstract

Various fully automatic dish washing machines have been disclosed for cleaning dishes, cups, and the likes, and have appeared on the market. However, these fully automatic dish washing machines are expensive and bulky. Not only that, it wastes a lot of water and time during washing process because the users have to wait through all the process done by the washer. Furthermore, the problem of electrical leakage may occur easily because it must be placed in water during its operation. By using conveyer and PLC programmed with bug free on this system so that it is capable to clean effectively and efficiently in order to save the time, water and energy. Once the research was completed, the design of the automated cups washer was being carried out. A few types of design had been drawn and the best design of the prototype has been chosen. During the selection of materials, several reasons need to be considered such as cost, availability and the mechanical properties of the material. This phase is also involves a lot of alternative evaluations and decision making. However, a single mistake can cause serious failure to the project, a proper method can meet the task and completed at the time scheduled without any delayed. Next, the experiment was being carried out for troubleshooting of the automated cup washer. There were few problems encountered during the process of the experiment such as motor problem, PLC programming, water leaking, short circuit of the electronic circuit board, and etc. The entire problem had been resolved after the troubleshooting and rectification. As a conclusion of this report, this automated cups washer could help in washing cups easier for household users. The most important point of this project is to bring out the new concept of cup washer. Occasionally, the process of achieving something is more crucial that the outcome. Although this prototype is not as expected, there is potential to make this automated cups washer better.
